Has anyone been on a Mexican Riviera cruise recently? Did you feel safe while on your excursions ? Was the cruise staff extra cautious ?
Mexican Riviera. Safety concerns
Stopped in Ensenada on way back from Hawaii recently ...Felt as safe as I ever do in Mexico which is a healthy "stay alert" - watch what's going on around you type feeling. I am always extra vigilant in Mexico as compared to the Caribbean but I think that also has to do with how aggressive they are in approaching you ...
I don't think I would ever see the cruise staff "extra cautious" or show signs of fear because they've been trained not to relay bad vibes to the passengers ...
I'll be in Cabo next week so will see what the vibe is then ...
We aren't a big fan of any Mexico ports at the current time. Kind of the same feeling we have about Jamaica. We hope that things change so that we feel a higher comfort level venturing into these countries.
Not my favorite cruise. I was on the Star when 2 people got shot rite next to the ship in the secure area in 2011 can't recall if it was in PV or Mazatlan (I was recovering on that cruise and only got off the ship in Cabo, the kid got off in other stops with the group we were traveling with)
I have been steering away from Mexico lately but feel that it is a s safe as anywhere eses nowadays.
It's been a year since we cruise to Cabo, Mazatlan and PV, but we felt perfectly safe in each of the ports. We didn't take any excursions in Cabo or PV but just wandered and explored on our own and we were fine.
Never been. But, I do like Cozumel. I know it's in the Yucatan and far away. Mexico is a mad house, we let them in, yet, they arrest anyone they can find unless you have the bribe money. Yep... It's true. Be careful.
Arrest ... bribe money ... sounds like Vegas ... oh we were talking about Mexico ....sorry
