Menu Oddities

So I have a question...I have only been on Carnival, and they from time to time offer a "Didja" which is short for Didja ever try this, which is something different like frogs legs, or alligator, or something like that.  Do other lines have something similar and if so, what is the oddest thing you have tried on the menu?

I have never heard of that, but would be willing to try.

LOL I have to date tried Alligator, Frogs legs, Escargot and Shark.  Funny thing with the Frogs legs is they taste good, but your brain is saying....You got no business eating this!  LOL

I don't recall anything like that. But I did try escargot once, taught me enough butter and garlic on something it's palatable.Wink

Favorite thing I've tried on the "Didja" menu is the beef tongue. Nothing like what I expected it to be!

I loved the "Didja" menu -- took it as a personal challenge on my last 2 Carnival cruises.

(I did pass on the beef tongue, though).

Love the Beef tongue. I buy it here to make sandwiches.

Love Escargots.. always stuff them in big mushrooms.

As  a kid ate shark deep fried like fish and chips.

And ate snake, porcupine and bugs.

Never alligator though... what is that like?

Alligator is really good! It was a little salty for me the last time I had it, but I think it was just the way it was prepared.

I always try the Didja stuff on Carnival. Did not care for the Alligator I found it a bit to oily and gamy. The Snails taste good, the brain still knows what it is and I don't like the texture but I'm happy to take some bread and soak up all the butter and garlic.. Shark I like when it is a grilled Shark Steak.
