MDR Interruptions

When we've cruised on Carnival, we've been interrupted or read of others being interrupted during their meal several times, by photographers wanting to take photos, and magicians offering to do table side tricks. Do you enjoy these or prefer to have dinner without the interruptions?

We would prefer they don't stop at the tables, but our friends pose for photos, so it's no big deal just to say no thanks. I personally don't think the MDR is the right setting for magic tricks, or for the Pirates posing with guests for photos. We do enjoy stopping dinner to watch the wait staff do their songs, though.

I don't necessarily enjoy them. I don't mind...as long as there's no food in front of me Happy. Last time I think the photographer came before the meals arrived and the magician came while waiting for desserts.

We barely notice them anymore.  It’s easy enough to say “No thanks” and continue your conversation and meal.

It depends. On formal night we expect to see the photographers, and we usually have them take a picture.  The rest of the nights we never notice them. No magicians, except the chefs that make some great food appear.

I can do with out the Photo's,  the Magicians are a lot of fun to stop by between dishes or after dinner.  I just bring a big cardboard sign to put on the table " No Damned Photos"    Just kidding.

The first time I had the pirate hold his sword to my throat was a bit disconcerting, but I don't pay attention now.  We just let them do their thing and go on.  Now if they were to come around when we have our food in front of us, I wouldn't like that at all.

We haven't seen the magicians.

I don't mind for a formal night and usually the photographs are quite polite.  I do get bothered if they arrive when all we have in front of us are our dirty plates.  Once we even asked the photographer to photograph us instead by the beautiful display at the front door of the MDR.  He did & the photo came out so well that we bought it.  Another time we invited a neighbor to dine with us when we found ourselves on the same sailing.  We asked the roving photograph to take our photo and bought a copy for our neighbor who was traveling alone.  She was thrilled.

I find it annoying and especially get irritated when they start moving the clean table service around and touching all the plates and silverware ...

That would really annoy me too! Angry

I hate the pirates And the photographer bugging me at dinner.  It's annoying, embarrassing and just a way to sell more stuff.  Get lost, same thing with the gangway interruptions.AngryAngry
