Man Overboard on Triumph? Is it Rumor or Truth

In another chat heard from someone on Carnival Triumph of a man overboard. Can anyone confirm? Thought I remembered another from the same ship in the past, so wondering if it was a re-posting or current tragedy.

Hopefully the former. Hate to think of two tragic falls in as many days.

I only saw the Elation fall

It's crazy!  First that lady falls from deck 14 to a lower deck and she dies.  Now this guy!  I just don't understand how one falls off the balcony.  The railing is pretty high--you'd either have to climb over it or be sitting on top of the railing.

As long as the passenger keeps at least one foot on the deck, and is not pushed, it is next to impossible to fall off a balcony.

The passenger could have been pushed, or, more likely, was sitting on or climbing the balcony rail. Alcohol surely had something to do with it.

Thanks for the confirmation...I was really hoping it was just rumor. I've only been on two cruise ships so far, but it sure seems like you would have to work at it to fall over. What a shame for their families and friends.

You cannot fall.  No way.. People are either stupid, suicidal or murdered.

So sad...

2 cruiseship deaths in just a few days - so sad, especially since they are completely preventable.

In Kentucky, we would call that a "hold my beer and watch this" moment.

It's sad for sure, but not the cruise line's fault.

Exactly.
