Mah Jong

We are sailing on Celebrity Equinox on March 17/2018

Anyone interested in having a Mah Jong game in the mornings or afternoons?

If you haven't already, sign up for the roll call for this cruise and ask your fellow shipmates! If you're on the site, click the 'more' tab at the top of the page and roll calls is a dropdown underneath. :) Hope you have fun!

Hope you find some fellow cruisers on your roll call to play.  Enjoy your cruise!

Game rooms always have Mah-Jong games going.

I have not seen it on Carnival sailings... must be primarily on NCL?

‘Maybe.

Or maybe sailings from NY.  It may not be as popular in the home state of other ports on embarkations.  I have noticed that there are more people from the State of home port aboard ships.  This is a logical and not surprising thing, but it would explain the game rooms you are more familiar with. (I know bad grammar.)  "With which you are familiar."

Not to be stereotypical,  but it seems to almost always be Asians playing.  I don’t know if they are using the American cards.  I’m guessing not.

The Equinox is a great ship,  you should have a good cruise.  I have been on her twice and both were great cruises with great food and service.       Enjoy.  Big Smile

Good luck fredayb on finding a game. Sorry, can't help, with this question, but I'm following this post for ideas. I'm going to my roll call next to see if any of my shipmates will be up for a game...Love mah jong. Anyone know if Ruby Princess has a game room aboard? I've cruised Carnival a couple times and never saw one.

Good Cruising!

I haven't played in many years.  It was very popular with Air Force wives when my DH was active duty.  I got reasonably good then.  However, there are slightly different rules when playing with non-military folks (we had a rule book and very determined ladies in charge).

I hope you find a game and/or people who want to play.  On some Carnival ships, the library (or part of it) becomes a game room. I notice that also happened in the Island Princess.
