MAGICal tournaments

citing poor turnouts for their poker tournament finals, Carnival will no longer be offering satellite tournaments.  You can still play cash games on board, and tournaments will be limited to individual sailings, with prizes commensurate to the number of paid entries.

However, Carnival will begin hosting Magic the Gathering ( and possibly Pokémon ) tournaments on several of their ships.  The first is scheduled for October on a yet to be determined sailing.  E-mails will be sent when a decision is made on this.

So, build your best decks, or get your kids to do it.  They are eligible too as there will be no age limits.  You may win a seat in the finals for cash prizes.

More proof that Carnival is after the family kids rather than the adults.

Bak - any truth to the rumors of the Funship 3.0 upgrades? More playgrounds for the kids at the expense of the poolside bars?

I haven't heard anything.

knowing Carnival they will skip 3.0 and go right to 4.0

Good luck everyone!

I have a nephew who I know looks for Magic the Gathering tournaments – he’s participated in several around the country.  When google spits this post out at him, I’m going to have to explain that I’m pretty sure it’s a joke.

The only reason I think it may be real?  The BAK I know wouldn’t miss the opportunity to say they were re-branding Carnival Magic for the tournament… Wink

BAK, you always know how to make me laugh.
