They were going to be the second cruise line to sail year round from NY.  That didn't last long.  They ran 7 Day cruises down to Nassau in the middle of winter, while NCL was running 10 Day cruises to the Caribbean.   NYers don't go to Nassau in the winter.

We've enjoyed our cruises for all of those reasons.

Are you kidding me?  Has anybody actually done this:....

OK, so you booked your cruise and are onboard but don’t care for the experience. Carnival’s Great Vacation Guarantee kicks in. Notify guest services that you’re not having a great time within 24 hours of embarkation on any 3-14 day Carnival vacation. If the can’t fix what’s wrong, Carnival will refund 110% of your fare then make arrangements to get you back home, free of charge.

When you get on a Carnival ship you know what your getting into.   I like them for short cruises,  not sure if I would book a 14 night or longer on Carnival.

Why would you not book 14 or longer on Carnival but you would on another Cruiseline?

I live in Galveston, so nearness to a carnival ship is number one for us.

Great loyalty program, been on 14 cruises and we are platinum

Outstanding excursions

Friendly employees (we always use the carnival planning professional GIGI is the best)

Beautiful ships..each one has a different theme

I can  enjoy Carnival for a 3,  4 or 7 night cruise but for longer I prefer Celebrity,   Carnival is a floating amusement park, with the water slides, rope course and sky ride, lots of kid and tacky decor.  Celebrity is a floating 5 star resort designed for adults, much better food, better service,  the lecture series is great,  a more elegant ship and a different demographic of clients.   Thick party hardy Vs elegance and culture.  On my transatlantic cruise from Rome to Florida Celebrity had a retired WWII British Commander that gave a series of lectures on the rise and fall of German U-boats in WWII.  On the 11 night Greek Islands cruise they had a lecture series of famous ships through history.  To be fair,  I enjoy the Concert series on Carnival,  in 2016 I saw Journey on the Victory and last month we saw Jay Leno on the Vista.

I guess as I have gotten older I can still party on Carnival for a short time but for a long trip I want the relaxing elegance of Celebrity.  On my last Carnival cruise Security was called multiple nights on the cabin next to me for yelling at 2 or 3 AM as they were having parties in that cabin.   I do not like getting woken up to hearing racial obscenities being yelled.   (You know that word that we can not say but they can,  preceded by "You Stupid F---ing N"   or the next night woken up to cackling laughing with a woman yelling how she had sex with him on the floor so they would not roll off the bed)  You know they had to be loud to be heard through the wall and to wake me up).

I have booked Transatlantic cruises on Carnival and loved them all.
