My husband and I are looking for someplace new to cruise to. We've been to Canada twice, the Bahamas twice and Alaska. Where is a place with some culture. Anyone do a cruise to Italy, France or something in that line? Or have suggestions
Looking for a place to cruise
Do an eastern Mediterranean/Adriatic cruise! We sailed on Norwegian Star from Venice, Italy to Dubrovnik & Split Croatia, Athens & Olympia Greece, and Kotor, Montenegro. It was wonderful! A very port-intensive itinerary but there was SO much culture and it was beautiful. We also spent a few days in Venice afterward which was so much fun. Some similar voyages also go to Santorini and/or Mykonos Greece instead of the other Greek ports, which look beautiful from photos I've seen.
Thank you for you recommendations. I am going to look into them. They sound amazing!
I have a few on my list such as Bermuda, Mediterranean and also the Baltic. There are some real nice Baltic itineraries available.
Depending on time and budget. Europe is great but with travel tine not worth it for just one wee. My favorite trip was flying into Rome for a week and then the 10 night Cruise out of Rome to the Greek Islands on Celebrity. Mainland Greece interesting but no to nice. The Greek islands are beautiful with nice people, great food, beer and wine and the weather is great in the Med. The week in Rome was no enough to see everything.
If your more Budget in mind, a re-positioning cruise from Europe to the USA are great prices if you enjoy 6 sea days. I have done From Rome to Florida and from San Juan P.R. to London.
On my bucket list would be a cruise out of Venice Italy. I spent a week in Venice last year and I want to go back
If you want history and culture, Europe is the place to go.
If you would be interested in ancient Mayan culture, a Western Caribbean including Mexico and Belize may suit you.
