London hotel

We are planning on spending a few days in London  (oct 39 to Nov. 3) before going to Southhampton to board our ship....has anyone else planned on doing that.  If so, where are you staying and have you made travel arrangements to the ship?

Our first visit to London was in 1974. We spent a week there due to a business conference I attended. We stayed in the Grosvenor House since most of the conference meetings were there. We have been in London a number of times since but in 2011 we got off the Ryndam in Dover and through the HAL hotel and transfer package stayed there again. Absolutely steeped in history, Hyde Park is directly across the street. Loved it:

When I stayed for a couple weeks in London post cruise we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Kensington. This hotel is only 2 blocks off of the Tube. The Piccadilli line that is in basement of Terminal 5 of Heathrow. A web site I found useful was called, booking through then got me a great price, a book of what to do in London and 2 tickets for the Thames river cruise. If the English food is not to your licking, the Middle Eastern and Indian food are good in London.

P.S., if we left the hotel room window open we picked up the free street Wi-Fi, we were on the 9th floor.

Thanks so much....since my post I have found an adorable flat on air with awesome just have to figure out what we want to see and do besides the hop on hop off bus tour.

thanks for your input....
