Euripides, the great Athenian playwright, was the pen name of a man named Tony. Now, Tony was, by trade, a tailor. His writings amused the many of his friends who insisted he publish. His wife gave him the name from a phrase he often used in the shop. Someone would bring in a torn pair of pants for repair, and he would invariably say to the customer, “ hey, how you rippa dese ? “
