And will be increasing our drink prices and gratuities to cover it. Angry

It always amazes me what corporations will do to appear to be great and generous corporate citizens. When you realize that any donations are tax deductible. I'm not picking on just Carnival here, or the flooding, I see it a general problem with Corporate Canada and America.

But it does make good press.

Good Job Carnival.... even with any tax savings they are still giving away $ 250,000.00 that they do not have to.

Thanks JusMe ... I'm sure the victims being helped by ANY donations could care less who or why someone gave ...just that they gave.

They could remove a ship from their working fleet like they did for Katrina & cancel all booked cruises. Would that make everyone happier?

No...you'd whine that your cruise was cancelled.

Some effort is better than NO effort in my opinion.

I've been a Hurricane Victim and was blessed enough to have my own resources. The majority of people do not. And believe me, as toontes said, some effort is better than NO effort.

I'm in New Orleans, but I have family and friends in the flooded Baton Rouge and North Shore Area area. I greatly appreciate what Carnival has done for whatever reason. Any and all resources are needed and appreciated! Happy
