IT WAS INEVITABLE...BUT LOOK HOW WELL IT WAS HANDLED

I know it couldn't have been a pleasant experience...but they isolated them and brought them home, and the cruise continued. It begs the question of how they got it to begin with, given the measures to prevent it...nevertheless, I could just imagine the reaction when it happens "here"......

We were debating masks and buffets and such...and wondered if that was the "new normal''...I submit THIS is the new normal.....

Yeah. it looks like MSC handled it well. But check out this maritime law attorney's take on the subject.

Personally I think he's a bit over the top, but I'll admit if anything ever happened to me or my family on a cruise that would require my seeking legal assistance, he'd be the guy I call. He gives absolutely no quarter to the cruise lines, especially related to COVID.

The first time it happens here I predict it's going to be a hair on fire event, and the pundits will rush to the news studios to breathlessly proclaim the end of the world. They will attempt to make the case that it still isn't safe, no matter what protocols are in place. Hopefully more rational heads will prevail.

Interesting articles! I guess one could say the protocols worked as advertised, but there was still a situation. This will be interesting to follow!

ABLEMAN...Thanks for rescuing me from endless chores with what appears to be an endless blog...it got more and more interesting the further I read...Not particularly worried about a covid outbreak...if I was seriously concerned about it, a cruise ship would be the last place i'd want to be....what really got me was the opine about how the State of FL, in its infinite wisdom, is going to get blown out of the water so to speak. Took my time and read it thru....VELLY INTERESTING piece......seems to me you really did have a solution yesterday, but he can't use it now without looking like a total dweeb. Not for nothing, but you'd have thought SOMEBODY would've cautioned him about getting involved in a FEDERAL court....

AB...got the email notification and what I believe was the complete text of your post...but it "failed to launch"...the usual glitch....

Damn, I put a lot into that one. It was so well written and if I must admit, on point & brilliant. It's a shame you didn't see it.

Actually, I was just popping off on Ron Desantis perhaps having a deeper strategy regarding the lawsuit and his future political aspirations à la 2024

In other words, I was merely pontificating opinions that should probably be better kept to myself, lest I prove to be the fool I suspect I am at times. I do recall I failed to use the disclaimer that it was all just "IMHO". A cardinal sin in this endeavor. People might actually think I may need professional help, and they could be right.

Well, I did get the text of it...it ended with him building up his street cred for a run at the big job....was there more?

Lucky!!! Could have been far worse.
