Issues at a cruise port

I don't want to get into any political debate, but did anyone see some of the news from Ft. Lauderdale and issues with the new executive order?

Just glad I wasn't working at that port on that turn around..

I hope things were settled calmly for everyone.

Generally I will stay away from political discussions, but this board seems to stay on track without getting ugly, so here goes:

President Trump has barred nationals from certain countries that have been shown to sponsor terrorism. Even though someone may have a "green card" allowing them to stay in America, the vetting done was not sufficient, and the vetting done after the card was issued was virtually non-existent.

With the President's order, all persons from the listed countries will have to undergo a deep vetting to ensure that they are not involved in terrorism. Although it may seem like an outlandish idea, does anybody recall the Boston Marathon bombing? That, and many other terroristic acts, have been carried out from "green card" holders or persons naturalized that originally came from these countries.

Admittedly, many other acts have come from "home grown" terrorists -- those with no blood ties to any of the listed countries. Do I support a similar vetting for all US Citizens? Not at this point.

I saw that ... I also saw an article on a large protest in AU where 1000 + NCL passengers were protesting the major changing of their itinerary on I believe it was the Sun .. or maybe the Star, one of those.

Overall, from a Canadian perspective, the jury is still out on your new President...

But I have to laugh.... He is doing all the things he said he would before the vote, and now that he won, he is doing all the things he said he would,,,,, And the whole world is losing their minds.

I's like buying a cruise at a super discounted price ans being surprised when they ahnd you the oars....Big Smile

Who would have ever thought that a politician would stick to his word. LOL

It is a first... Ain't it.

Sure is. Definitely something we haven't experienced with our pretty boy or any predecessors.

It is!

I have noticed that the protest are coming from the areas that did not support him in his win.

A politician that does what he said he would,  now if only a media that would report unbiased ....... one can only hope.

I do feel for the good people that are being inconvenienced by this,  and thoughts out to the families with children being held up returning home to the USA.

Meghad23...... long time no see in the forums,  Glad to have you back to active Big Smile   Hope all is well and the 2 jobs are not killing you.
