Is the best cruise line for solo travelers NCL?

Hi, everyone I want to take a cruise for the first time next year and I'm just wondering if NCL is the best cruise line for solo travelers since they offer cabins for solo travelers so they don't have to pay single supplement.

Step one you need to determine what port you want to leave from and the cost of getting there from your location. One cruise may be priced lower but cost more to get to - where are you traveling from?

That might be a good choice for that reason but be sure that you really want to visit the ports of call listed.

On the newer larger NCL ships they have the Studio cabins and from what I have read they even try to get the singles to have dinner together at one time. The studios also have a lounge so you can meet other singles. This is great for traveling solo, but you only get inside cabins that are very small.

I have cruised solo on Carnival, at that time they had no single supplement on the cruise I went on. They had assigned singles to tables together so you met other single travelers.

I have found the Piano bar is a good place to run into other solo travelers.

I have booked two solo cruises aboard NCL Pearl. The ONLY I did it was because I received a call from an NCL sales rep about two particular cruises where the line waived the solo supplement. I jumped on them...on short notice. One, a 12-night Panama Canal cruise was booked four weeks before sailing, the other was like two weeks before. That made it possible to take a standard interior cabin at my price and share my space with NO ONE. Man-heaven. To watch my stories:
