Is it possible to complete a cruise and not owe them anything?

Yes, I know prepay the gratuities, don't go on excursions, eat in the buffet or free restaurants, buy no t shirts...……..don't drink....I think I'll just sit here and listen for the choking laughter....

Yes.  If you pre-paid gratuities, not difficult.

Not hard to do.  I’ve ended several cruises without owing anything.  Got a refund after one of my Princess Cruises.

My last one, a four dayer on the Ruby Princess, I goofed and owed $403,679 dollars which I’m still paying off but other than that hick up I’ve done pretty well.

Four hundred three thousand and six hundred and seventy nine dollars is a pretty big hiccup. Did the captain let you drive the ship uninsured.

For the original question I bet it is possible for some but not even close for me.

Well then, you gotta get those t-shirt purchases under control!!! that last day's a killer isn't it???

Aaaahh...an honest man at last heheheheh

It hasn't happened for us, but I could imagine if you did a lot of pre-pay and had some OBC, it could be done.   Pre-pay the gratuities, buy shore tours before boarding, buy drink package, pre-pay any specialty dining, buy photo package, buy internet package, pre-pay any spa services and avoid the on-board shops. But that would eliminate any spontaneity.Wink

I guess it was a poorly phrased question.  If you prebuy and prepay everything they have to offer...well then...I guess what I meant was, if you're really and truly cheap, you buy the cheapest cabin, opt out of everything, I mean everything...and walk off...I guess there are folks who can do it...I know I can't.....

I don't even want to do that!  We have gone on cruises and not bought anything to declare, but we did have a bar tab, gratuities, a boarding photo and shore tours.  So it was small (comparatively) bill, but it doesn't happen often.

I agree completely...matter of fact sounds a lot like what we do ...we don't prepay gratuities, so thats always there, but we're very careful about the rest...Id rather leave a few bux extra for service here n there than buy more stuff...doesn't detract from being "out there" at all....besides, the more you cruise, the more perks you get.....luv that laundry!!!

It is possible, but why?
