Is A Grand Journey or Very Long Cruise in Your Future?

Have you ever been on a cruise longer  than one month?  Do you plan on taking on at some point in the future?  I have one coming up.  Gloria

Please let us know how it goes, We have been on two longish cruises, usually about three weeks, and we are going again for about the same next year. We enjoy the sea days and fewer stops. We do have plans eventually for a Grande Voyage, at least three months if not more, but that won't be for a while yet.

Mine is a once in a lifetime cruise on HAL. I know that I'll do fine on the ship, I am just concerned about something coming up back at home that I haven't provided for. I am even getting my flu shot early. I will write a review when I return. Have a great time whenever you do get to take that Grand Journey. Mine will be to the Far East and the South Pacific.

We can’t take that much time away from work yet. Our longest cruise has been ten nights but we’ve had several week-long cruises that required two weeks of vacation with the pre/post land stays and flights. I’m sure a nice long cruise is in our future though!Big Smile

WeCruiseToo, I hope that you get to take that long cruise someday. You can't do it while you are working, I know. We have been retired for over ten years now. This is supposed to be our 50th wedding anniversary trip but we moved it up three years to ensure that we are in good health to enjoy it. Who's counting anyway? I doubt that we can afford to take another one. Two of our neighbors take on average a couple of long trips a year. They are going on our Grand Journey too. How lucky they are to be able to do this! Every year we get the adverts from HAL, and I look at that cruise. It's actually 3 cruises. I hope to do it someday. It would be amazing I'm sure.

Enjoy it ( like I need to tell you )

Thanks for the kind words. I hope that all of you get to take a very long cruise someday if that is something you want to do. I'll be sure to write a review of both cruises when I return. Gloria

Take a bunch of pictures.....

I have looked at doing one of those but all of my friends still work and do not have the time off or money to go play with me for more then a week at a time :-( It is a downfall of retiring very young (I went semi-retired years before I hit 40)

Please let us know how it goes. I have read that the Grand Journey is a bunch of cruises in a row on the same ship so table mates change through the journey. I would love 3 months on a ship, Just put the bills on auto pay and check e-mail in port cafe's.

Actually I think most of the people stay for the whole cruise although some stay only for segments. You get to meet more new people, so I think it's a good thing. I will let everyone know how we fare. I AM I admit just a bit nervous about being away so long. I'm concerned that I haven't taken care of all bills that may come in. This is our first long trip. Luckily we have my two sisters to watch our condo, take in our mail, pay some bills with signed checks, etc. We tried to think of everything. Now I just want to go. I'll write reviews and post photos from the two Back to Backs. When you don't hear me on the Forum know that I'm just away and haven't lost interest. If I can post a comment while I'm gone, I will but no promises. Gloria
