Informed Delivery via USPS - Awesome

So I signed up for this before leaving and a scanned image of all my mail was sent to me every day via email ... this is awesome! It's not available in all zipcodes yet but super handy for when you travel!

Hubby hates mail but this way, I can see stuff important and be sure it's not "lost" in the shuffle... You can also mark an item as "not received" if you have problems with someone messing with your mailbox!

What's really neat is whether your mail is on hold or being delivered regularly, it's scanned in every day ... I asked my carrier if it was a problem for him because I am a big pain in the a$$ for him already ...he laughed and said no, it's pretty much automatic ....

My son uses our address for certain business checks he gets and it will be nice to know at 7:30 am if it's there or not.

Yes, this IS a great service, I've been using it for a few weeks now. I'd imagine it's really handy if you have a PO box and only want to go to the PO when you actually have mail but it's also nice to know if a check is in the mail (literally) or as you said, when you're on vacation so you can make sure nothing got lost when you return.

I'm not sure what the OP's husband would find to hate about mail. Almost all of my bills arrive electronically these days, anyway.

I started using this the other day, and so far so good. I live in an apartment complex and our mailboxes are in one huge island location about 1-1/2 city blocks from my apartment. With the Informed Delivery, I can see if something important is in my box that I need to get ASAP...or whether it's a bunch of junk that can wait a day or two. I won't be going on vacation for a few more months, so even with my mail on hold, it'll be nice - whenever I do check my email - to see what they're holding for me and what requires my immediate attention once I return. I only hope it will maintain the efficiency it currently has.Happy

I started using this the other day and its great!

My mailman and I have discussed this and he said it is absolutely seamless in the automated way it works and has not created any additional work for him ... only downfall right now is it does not scan large envelopes but they're working on it.
