Impulse Cruising - Not a Good Idea

There is something to be said for planning a cruise far enough in advance to properly prepare - it's just not the same as hopping on a plane and taking a short vacation.

My recent "impulse" booking has been more of a headache and costly than it should have been because I didn't think it through and take into consideration the "spring break" time of year.  We didn't double check other possible personal conflicts schedule wise and although we are still going, I had cancelled my April cruise and can't do the earlier one Sad.

LOL - you are right - Got a lot of flack from non-cruising hubby & cruise buddy son ...Oh well, can't undo the past!

The past is definitely the past. Lol  Enjoy

We only did one impulse cruise and it was wonderful!  One Winter day just after Christmas, my DH says we should go on a cruise next month.  I need no more encouragement than that, and start looking. I found one the end of January.  Now we usually book a balcony but the web page said that a suite was $4.79/day more.  Thinking I must be miss reading this I had my DH look at it.  He says that can't be right call Lauren (our personal vacation planner at Carnival at that time).  She says that can't be right and checks it out.  Sure enough it was right and I asked how long she could hold it (needed to check air fares).  She said 24 hours and I assured her it wouldn't be that long. Checked the airfare and there was a special for the same dates that was better than any we have booked round trip CO to FL.  So we went on a 7 day cruise with a suite (and it was sweet) on the best impulse buy we have ever had at a cost we have yet to beat.

Sometimes it is good!Love

Most of the time I book a cruise with under 90 days to go.  I prefer that over booking 6 months or a year our.  I just hate the long countdown until the cruise.   I am retired so no issues to get up and go most of the time.

This sound so much like a morning after regret.

You cruise so much, how can every cruise not be impulsed?  I usually book 6 months out.  181 days to go.  Yippie.

I think that sums it up - late night lurking - seeing Todd pull the trigger - next you thing know ...lol oh well no such thing as a bad cruise huh?

Aunt Pinkie you timed it perfectly! Happy

We did.  It has never happened again, but it was wonderful and I like sharing.
