Iditarod Champion & Sled Dogs Come On Board

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is an annual long-distance sled dog race run in early March from Settler's Bay to Nome, Alaska. Libbey Riddles, the first woman to win the Iditard in 1985, usually comes on board the Princess Cruise Ships in Juneau

and gives an awesome talk about her life. She will autograph her many books after the talk - really enjoyable. They also brought some huskie puppies on board in Skagway and allowed photo ops with the pups!

Dawwwww the puppies!!!! I would try and snag one lol

I tried but they made me give it back.

she is really cool to see. I have been to her lecture several times. Always enjoyable.

When I heard she was making a "surprise appearance", I trucked all over Juneau looking for a copy of her book for her to autograph. Duh - she had a whole supply of items for sale with her ... Her surprise appearance is evidently a regular occurrence on Princess Ships in Juneau. BUT WELL WELL WORTH IT ... had no idea about the Iditarod or sled dogs previously.

Did these animals have their "Service Animals" signs on?

No lol but were brought in a box and passed amongst around 50 passengers...makes you wonder how good that was for passengers or pups!
