I'm so excited...First time cruisers

Hubby and I can't wait to get out of the Midwest where we just got 10 inches of snow and have been stuck at home for a few days.  Looking forward to the 84 degree weather and our first time on a cruise ship.  Going with two other couples so it should be fun.  Does the Freedom of the Seas have a swim up pool bar?  If so I have a feeling i will be spending a lot of my time there.  Any idea what the ship swimming pool water temperature might be?  Are they heated?

Welcome and congrats.. You can find a lot of information here on the boards. My DH and I went on our first cruise last year and are 109 days from our 2nd.  We actually booked our 2nd while on our first.  Everyone here loves cruising and I am sure you will have a blast.  If I come across anything on the boards regarding pool temp, I will let you know.

Most ship pools are heated and nice and warm. So are the hot tubs. Can always check on the cruise line website. They will usually mention the pool is heated

Welcome to the forum. I have only been on 5 ships, and none had swim up bars..... none could be used for swimming because they weren’t big enough, but they di have bars close by.

Hope you enjoy your cruise.

This is our 2nd cruise. You do not need a swim up bar as I just went to the side after going to the bar and sipped my drink. Also the pool waiter came around and after slipping him a $20 the first day, he never let my glass run dry. GOOOOOOD TIMMMMEEESSS!!!!!

Welcome to the forum and the world of cruising.

Have a great cruise and CHEERS!!!  Happy you found the FORUM! Big Smile

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first cruise! Hope you have a great time and write a review when you return. Happy

Welcome to cruising. We have our 5th cruise booked. I havent been on that ship but the ones I have the pools have always been comfortable heat wise. There is so much to do aboard you may find your self not spending as much time by the pools as you think. Take advantage of all the entertainment and have fun!

Hope you had a great time and if so enjoy your new addiction.

The pools on cruise ships are pretty small.  Do not expect a swim up bar; ships don't have that.  The pool temperatures can vary greatly throughout a cruise depending on the winds and outside temperatures.  They are almost all heated to a comfortable temperature.  Comfortable is a relative word.  What one passenger deems comfortable, another passenger may find too hot or too cool.  Europeans usually prefer cooler temperatures, I prefer warmer water.  Hot tubs or whirlpools are usually not too hot.  Unfortunately, I am allergic to bromine which most cruise pools use for sanitation so I can't use any of the pools or spas onboard.  Be sure to bring a bathing suit or two.
