How Satisfied Are You With Bar Service on Cruises?

I often read that passengers seem to be more dissatisfied with bar service than in the past.  Have cruise lines cut back on the number of bartenders or servers serving drinks?  Do you notice a decline poolside?  Howe long does it typically take to receive your drink when ordered at a bar?  What about bar service in the casino?  Can we hear your thoughts on bar service?  Also, if you do not drink alcohol, how is service for non-alcoholic beverages from the bar?

The wait time seems to be a bit longer, but once you get it the service is still outstanding, as long as you are buying alcohol.

I have noticed kids waiting for over half an hour for a coke, and the bartender ignores them.Sad

On our last cruise, we went as a group of 6. There was one non drinker and 4 rough and ready drinkers and on occasional tippler. We had no trouble at all with service and attitude. Our bar bill for the group?------BOING!!!!!!

I usually go to the bar myself, so there's no wait.

Never had a problem in getting drinks at the bar or through a waiter/waitress. Give them the card, sign the slip and enjoy the drink. This is on Norwegian. Cannot speak for other cruise lines

Never had a problem,  once I get to know the server in the Serenity and the Champagne bar (they have a better selection of wine then most of the other bars on the ship) they keep me happy.

One trip we were buying a bottle or 3 of wine a day at the Champagne bar that they would bring us chocolate covered Strawberries with our wine,  They also gave us discounts because we tipped in cash.  In one of the other bars they gave us a cheese and fruit tray to go with our wine.  At the Piano bar they only served a red wine that I did not care for so they went to another bar to get me the wine I wanted.   Awesome service on RCI

I will let you know in 4 days.  Leaving Jan 3!  However, I have yet to notice a real issue but I am the type that if I want a drink and there is no one immediately there, I will decide to use those walking things that God gave me and go get one.  :)

I much prefer the Government issued LPCs (leather personnel carriers, AKA shoes)Big Smile

I actually find that I would rather go to the bar rather than have someone wait on me in the pool area. At a table in a lounge would be a different animal though - I would expect sufficient tableside service.

Never had a problem at Norwegians whiskey bars.

.......or at the vodka bars

......or at poolside
