How Many of You Had never been to the Ocean before your First Cruise?

Even when I didn't live near it, the ocean has always been a part of my life...Born in Pennsylvania, trips to Atlantic City are part of my very early childhood memories.

I'm surprised (but shouldn't be) how many people here in Nevada have never been to the ocean.

Had you been to an ocean before you took your first cruise?

Yes. Both Atlantic and Pacific as a youth. But only those two.

Yes.  I live in the SF Bay Area and have gone to the Pacific beaches many times.  Unfortunately water in this area of California is too cold and I've not gone in a long time.  I've also been to and in the Indian Ocean before my first cruise.  Snorkeled in the Diego Garcia lagoon many times.  The Indian Ocean is warm and wonderful.  Also seen the Atlantic Ocean but have never been in it.

Grew up in Vancouver B.C. Swimming in the Pacific for years, Sailed with the Royal Canadian Navy as a cadet on a mine sweeper. Love the ocean, would rather  have many sea days and less port days.

Had been to the ocean, just never that deep that a ship could float on it.

I grew up in Southern Ontario and didn't see the ocean until mid 20's on a trip to Vancouver. It wasn't until 15 or so years later when we spent a week on Vancouver Island, that I fell in love with being by the ocean.

Sure.  Grew up in Wisconsin but family trips to Florida and California as a child got me to oceans decades before my first cruise.
