How Important is the Cruise Director to You When Booking a Cruise?

I have to admit that I have never asked about who the cruise director would be on a cruise that I am booking.  Usually I book so far in advance that the cruise line doesn't even know.  To me, food, service and itinerary are more important.  How important is the cruise director to you?

Not an issue, as they rarely impact me. I can understand though, how a lousy director can be a pain.

I've never paid attention prior to boarding.

Zilch--When booking that is. It is nice to have a good one though when under sail.

All of the above are my thoughts as well.

Don't even give it a thought.

Nil, I really don't care and can't recall ever seeing the CD. CD.. must be PC here and say Cruise Director.

We enjoyed CD Brittany Boyd on the Exstacy a few years ago, but she's the only one who had any impact on us. The others have not been very good. On our last cruise, the cd had such a huge ego, and thought of himself as a stand up comic when making announcements or introducing the shows, but he was terrible.

I have had good ones and not-so-good ones, but I do not really remember any of them.

Who the CD is on a ship, to me, has the same gravity as who the Maître D' is, or the Captain, or the janitor.

I could care less. However, on our last trip ( maybe the last two ) Alvin was great.  We actually got to meet him.  That's the first time in over 20 cruises we met the CD.
