How Do You Protect the Paper Luggage Tags?

We have visited the missing luggage area of a ship on embarkation day and seen many pieces of luggage with torn off tags. What do you do to protect yours?

It was on this thread where I got the tip where to buy clear bag tag holders. Thank you very much, I had looked into every travel shop in town, to no avail, up to that point. Sometime after we had received ours and used them, much to our satisfaction, the following query came up again. So I shared our story, even got accused of having a piece of the bag tag holder manufacturing action, LOL. But seriously, we really have had good luck with the ones which have the tiny cable straps. http://cruiseline.com/forum/post/luggage-tags-12979/2?page=3&per_page=10

I also got some off of Amazon clear, zip lock seal and metal strand to hold them to luggage. They worked great and no need to look for a stapler at the hotel before the cruise. At the same time I picked up some lanyards to hold my sign and sail card. the two items will now go with me on future cruises.

I just checked those out, I will order them. What a great idea.

Amazon is amazing! I still have the wine diapers on my wish list (also known as the jet bags)

Nothing. They hold up pretty well. However, i do carry on and off.

We protect ours with clear contact paper, like you line shelves with. Then after the cruise I put them in my scrapbooks.
Our last trip in March however, the travel agency gave us plastic luggage tags and they worked fine.

I went to Walmart and paid about 3.00 for plastic covers. They were out of the clear so just got the hot pink ones. You could still see the print through them. Later, we were told that ours was the easiest for the porters to keep together..no one else had hot pink!!

clean packing tape - alwaysHappy

I recently ordered the sets off Amazon - they seem pretty well made and you get a pack of 8 for $10-12.

A whole lot easier than tape.

I use clear plastic holders. Before that I used to laminate them, wrap around the handle and staple.
