How Daring are you when it comes to Excursions?

Zip lining in the Jungle, Driving a dog sled...Are you the scarier the better type or put me on a bus and let me look out the window type ... or somewhere in between.

I would do about anything once, but being a 56 year old chunker, I know my limitations. Not to say I don't push the envelope once in a while. Cave tubing was fun, but ziplining in a foreign country with who knows what kind of cable could be disastrous Surprised

It all depends on the level. I would not mind Zip Lining. Dog sled stuff--been there done that. White water rafting as well. Snorkeling and horseback riding--works best for me.

Never had done an excursion. I'd like to try one but I don't want to pay the exurbanite prices to swim with the fishes or other high priced excursion. I hear they are fun but sometimes the bang is not worth the buck. Also people seemed so rushed to get off the ship, file in line, get there and pack up and get back.

You're missing a good part of the cruise experience. I look at the cost in terms of a nice dinner out or cocktails with friends - about same price and much more bang for the buck. As far as how people approach excursions in a rush is the same as how some board ... just people over excited lol.

My last cruise I did browse them a little bit more. I'm not much of a browser though.

I guess my daring days are in the past... LOL. Seriously though, I am fortunate to have experienced a lot of things offered as excursions; not a lot appeals as "must do". Our recent excursions have been cultural or historical experiences. We have done more on-our-own arrangements than earlier in our cruising careers, mostly because the large bus tours are more frustrating than they are worth.

I went zip lining. That's pretty daring.

It depends on the port and of course my BF... He hates heights, so zip lining is not an option. Sometimes we just get off the boat and explore, so depending where, that can be daring lol

Some of our friends think we’re daring (they use the word “crazy”) because we love to go exploring on our own, get out of the tourist areas and see what’s down that next alley or go hiking in the wilderness.

For organized tours, we lean towards things that get us out in nature that’s hard to get to on your own (snorkeling a reef far from shore, bear watching, hiking through a rainforest to the best waterfall) or something that will teach us more about the culture and history of a place we’ve never been before.

I guess the short answer is: we love it all!

I was more daring in my 20's and 30's, I know my physical limitation and I know I'm past 50 now, but I'd still go zip lining. I'm over 50, but i'm not dead yet.
