Honeymooning on the Mediterranean

Sooo excited that we will be taking our first Med cruise in early October and looking for people who have experience in some of the ports. The itinerary starts in Rome and we’ll be sailing to Palma, Cannes, Florence (Livorno), Naples, Barcelona. We’re also doing two post nights in Rome. Any ideas?

Have a wonderful honeymoon!

Sounds like a fantastic honeymoon cruise. Happy

Rome is a great city,  the Subway is well laid out and gets you around the city with ease.  The city is very easy to walk around.   We got a map and just crossed off the things as we saw them.

I would suggest staying in the Historic part of the city so all the sites are close by to walk.  Worst meal I had in Rome is the night we splurged and went to an expensive restaurant  for dinner near the Spanish Steps.    We had better meals at the little hole in the wall places locals eat.  Make sure you are in an American style hotel,  lots of little Roman hotels are converted apartments where you share a bathroom down the hall (I'm all for sharing,  but not a bathroom with 6 or 10 strangers).

Have a great trip.   Rome is a great city I have been 3 times and will go back.

Enjoy.

Barcelona is a beautiful city and the port is very near to the centre. The port shuttle takes you within walking distance of the start of your sightseeing if you aren't taking a tour.    Be very careful.... It is noted for pickpockets and men and ladies have had their money taken.....there are several tactics used so be alert. Have a wonderful cruise and honeymoon

Wolter's World on Youtube has a video on the different tactics used by pickpocketers.  Just so you are aware.

Here's the video if anyone is interested.

He has helpful videos about different places. Like what not to do and where to go.  He's been all over.

Have a great honeymoon. Congrats!
