- Holland America's New Amsterdam
Holland America's New Amsterdam
We are planning our first cruise with Holland America on the New Amsterdam. Leaving from Venice Italy and cruising the Greek Isles and Turkey. I can find very few updated reviews of this ship and none on this particular cruise. If anyone has any info on this particular cruise I would appreciate hearing from them. We are planning on a balcony stateroom on an upper deck. Food and entertainment are important to us as well as a clean ship. Please let me know. Thanks.
Here is a review of Nieuw Amsterdam cruise to Greece and the mediterranean last August: http://cruiseline.com/ship/nieuw-amsterdam/review/382394
Once you get to the ship reviews page, simply click on "Europe - Mediterranean" to filter all reviews by a destination.
Sorry, I don't have an answer, but I just wanted to say that the trip sounds like a blast and I hope you enjoy yourself. :)
I love HAL and am taking a cruise in a few days on the Amsterdam. I haven' traveled on this particular ship but you can expect fine service and good food. Please write a review after your cruise so we will have an up to date one. Enjoy your cruise. Gloria
I just got off the ms Amsterdam taking a Grand Voyage followed by a Panama Canal 14-night full transit. The ship was fine
. There was a big difference in the atmosphere of the ship between the two cruises but I loved both. My only real complaint and this may not bother you but there was no fridge in our cabin. I think that only the suites have a fridge. I was told that I could rent one for $2 a day. That would have cost me $188 for the 94 days that I was on board. I could have bought one for that amount of money, Laugh, laugh. The photo shows my favorite place on the ship - the ice cream station.
The entertainment varies from cruise to cruise. Just the singers and dancers stay the same. Since I was on two long cruises I saw the same dancers & singers shows several times & I still enjoyed it. Here's a photo of one of the entertainers.
\Music poolside on our Grand Voyage. We did not have live music on our Panama Canal cruise except for a couple of dasy with a Mariachi Band as we cruised the Panama Canal and a day later.
