Help - Nervous About Upcoming Cruise - Will I Make it?

Just realized how close I'm cutting my next cruise - LAS to Bellingham WA on Allegiant (yuk) leaving Vegas at 8:25 am - arrives at 11am in Bellingham.  Have a shutlle reserved at 12:50 to Vancouver Pier.  Cruise leaves at 4:30.  For some reason I thought it was a 10 minute ride to pier.  Anybody familiar with this route? If all goes well, should I make it in time?

Are you taking the shuttle from Bellingham to Canada Place pier in Vancouver? It's about an hour and a quarter drive if you are not stopped for long in the border crossing and if the traffic is good. Since you are travelling mid day.

If you fly into YVR and then take a shuttle to the pier it's about 30-40 minutes during the midday traffic.

Thanks so much for answering ... Yes, I'm stuck with the Bellingham flight but sounds like I wouldn't save that much time flying into YVR. I should have 31/2 hours for the shuttle to get there (leaves at 1, ship sails at 4:30). So with traffic and border stop, it should be ok.

Hi Debbie. Not to make you more nervous, you should be fine, but I think our last cruise out of Vancouver had a 4:30 departure but a 3:00 all-aboard time for some reason. Any chance you can get an earlier transfer so you don’t sit at the airport so long?

That's what I've been debating - scrap the shuttle ticket I already bought and take a taxi or something else earlier ...The online info is really poor finding "shuttles, etc."   I hate cutting it close and have been kicking myself for this booking... What are the odds of customs taking a really long time?

If I am on a shuttle bus crossing the border, what happens at Customs ... do they check all the luggage etc or wave it on through ... or is it luck of the draw ....

I think it may be the luck of the draw but not positive on that. A call to the shuttle company may confirm that. Not sure what the border crossings are like there but in southern Ontario going into MI or NY they can get quite backed up but even when they are at their worst the longest we have had to wait for crossing was an hour so you should be good for time.

Good luck and have a great cruise.

I think border-crossing times are pretty unpredictable, but it looks like you’ll be there mid-day on a Monday so I wouldn’t expect it to be too bad.
