Have you Noticed that "Land Vacations" have Increased Drastically in Price vs Cruising?

Wow - with more and more hotels tacking on parking and resort fees, the price of a land vacation seems to have increased dramatically ... what say you????

I've noticed hotel and airfare prices going up.

I saw some great land vacation prices on Travelzoo,  Like everything else depends how you book it and the style you want to go.  I'm a happy traveler if the hotel is safe, clean and quiet.   I don't stay at 6 motel but I also do not stay at the Ritz Carlton.   I have a friend that wants to get away for a few days I suggested Best Western or Holiday Inn in San Diego,  she will not stay in "that kind of hotel"  so,  no San Diego trip,  so picky when others are paying.

I can't really agree or disagree because I don't use hotels on land vacations.

When someone else is paying, I demand the Embassy Suites or Hilton.

When I'm paying, I stay at LaQuinta.or Holiday Inn.

I noticed the hotel prices and car rental fees are higher at our regular destinations. Food (restaurants and fast food) is also up a bit.  Sadly, income is the same.

In CA it can be that Min wage went up to $12.00 an hour this month...... so the price of everything is going up.  In 2021 min wage will be @ $ 15.00 an hour.  So look for everything to go up in price in CA.

Yes, yes, yes!!  Everything has increased a LOT over the past two years (IMO).

We often stay at LaQuinta or Choice Hotels/Comfort Inns when we travel and they have risen a lot in the past few months.

Myself, I think it is cheaper to cruise. We have 7 in our traveling-group. By the time you figure in three meals, a place to sleep, free entertainment, pools and you get waited on. Add these together and times it by 7.  It adds up. And I have young adults they eat around the clock if you let them.

I really want to cruise again, soon..... But with the economy here a bit slow, there will be fewer Vacations  and more staycations for the time being.

The family will be travelling to Hawaii next year to stay at the time share. The biggest cost for all of us is the air fare. Even when my sisters were on their annual drive around they encountered high prices for motels on their route.

Look for deals.

I wish I lived in southern Florida like some of you..... I could cruise every weekend.
