Have you ever met a Cruiseline.com member on a cruise?

Just wanted to know if any of you have met a member of this site on a cruise?

No, unfortunately there is little communication on the roll calls so I've pretty much given up for now.

We are planning to meet a few people I connected with on another group.

Not yet, but hope to in the future.

Not yet, but there always is the next cruise.

I wish that we had something to put on our cabin outside door to say that we are members. Even just the logo would identify us. I have not met anyone either. My last cruise and my next one aren't in the database anyway.

I wanted to add that we would enjoy meeting but the opportunity has not presented itself as yet. Never say never.

Apparently I was seated near one on my last cruise -- had the same wait staff in the MDR (according to a reply to my cruise review). Wish I knew who it was!

So far, everyone who has commented on this thread should have received their Second Mate Prize Pack, which includes the Ship Mate door sign. Display it proudly on your cabin door!

I have reached Captain level over a year ago but I have not received anything at all. Too bad because my cruise leaves on Saturday. I had hoped to have something to post on my door so someone could leave me a note to say that they are on the site, too. It would also help to advertise this site. It is how I learned about other cruise sites. I have had passengers knock on my door or leave me a note when I post a decoration. It is a great way to meet people.

I would participate more on roll calls but my last cruise didn't have a roll call and neither does my next one. I have also given up by now and haven't even been on ones for next year.

In November, I am going to a cocktail party to meet fellow travelers on next year's big cruise. We are all Floridians and I have not met any of them previously. I'll tell them about this site. Hopefully I can convince some to join here as they are all long time experienced cruisers.

On a recent Carnival cruise, through a roll call, I arranged a reservation for a bunch of us to get together at the port the night before the cruise. We had a terrific time and I still keep in touch wth them. I probably would not have gotten to know them on the ship as we were of such varying ages and circumstances. It was so nice to know so many passengers before the cruise. We were buying each other cocktails during the comedy shows and it was fun. The friendships really made the cruise more so much more exciting.

I urge everyone to participate on the roll calls not just sign up on them. It will really enhance your cruise experience. Many passengers organize shore excursions but I don't join roll calls for that purpose. I did host one cabin crawl, though and did a few other organized activities on previous cruises. I am usually very active on roll calls.

Wouldn't it be fun if we who are "crew mates" on this site would meet on a cruise?
