Have You Ever Cancelled a Cruise at the Last Minute?

If you had to cancel last minute, did your insurance pay? Did you lose your money if you didn't have insurance? Did the cruise line help you out in any way?

Let's hope we never need to cancel any cruise last minute or not.

Yes but it wasn't last minute per se. My hubby broke his leg in September 2013 and wasn't sure if he would be able to go on our December cruise without crutches so I cancelled AFTER making the final payment..We didn't get our money back because we transferred it to March 2014 on the Breeze.

Good to hear that you received most of your money back. Sorry, though, to hear the cancellation was due to the death of your father. It must have been a nightmare for you. Thanks for sharing.

We had to cancel three days out due to brother had a very serious stroke. The first time we had ever purchased insurance. Princess and the insurance company were awesome. We got almost all our money back.

We only purchased the insurance because our father was in the last few years and we did not know when we would get the call. Fortunately my brother recovered very well. So now I tell him to this day he owes me a cruise!!!

Sorry that you had to cancel cruises but at least the insurance paid off.

Unfortunately, yes. Insurance helped but we lost some money too. There was really nothing that could be done to help. On the upside, the reason we had to cancel improved and we lived to cruise another day. No one likes losing money but it is a risk in any transaction.
