Havana Cabana

Have you ever had a Havana Cabana?
We just took a cruise in June on Horizon. It was our 1st time on a brand new ship. On our cruise last year, we had gone to a cruise talk and they were chatting up the Havana Cabanas. We thought they sounded really nice so we booked one. It was the last one in the line closest to the pool/bar area on port side. On the other side of me was my cousins, down the "street" was my sister and BIL, next to them was their friends and across the hall fro them was my nephew and his friend. We though we would try it once and if we didn't like it, oh well. WE LOVED IT!!!
If you have the extra dollars to get one of these, DO IT!!! We have ZERO complaints. We usually get a regular balcony and now we don't know how we are going to get used to that again.  LOL We were spoiled and if every ship had a Havana area, we would get a Havana Cabana every time.

Great. What perks did you get by booking this area of the ship?

I have looked hard at those cabins - the front porch really seems nice.

My wife is hesitant because of the deck going past the windows -- she has a big problem with the lack of privacy.

I saw them advertised on our last cruise. It was announcing the new ship. I must admit they looked awesome.

These sound a lot like the Haven Suites on the NCL ships.

The very back of the ship has 2 hot tubs, a pool, a bar and lots of seating. You have that whole area to just Havana guests until 7PM. Even after that we didn't see too many there. I figure after 7 I'm at dinner and then a show anyway so that didn't bother me. We went back there late some nights and still not many people. You have to wear a wristband so they know you are there. The balcony rooms are about the same size as others but the balcony itself is like a big porch. It has a swinging chair, a lounger, a regular chair and a table.

To be honest, not many people walked by. They have a locked door at the end so nobody can get in that shouldn't be. If you leave your room for any length of time like to go to the pool, you have to leave from the cabin door anyway because you can't lock the patio door from the outside. I think that's why there was not much traffic there.

Trust me, they are!!! Like I said, if all ships had them, we would get them. We are sailing Triumph?Sunrise next year and i was hoping they would add some to that but they are not :(

They look so nice and the private pool is enticing however, I don't like that the balconies aren't as private as the regular balconies. We saw them on our Vista cruise. The Havana Bar is pretty snazzy though! Happy

Sounds wonderful!

Believe it or not, not too many people walk by. I think because if you leave your room and want to lick the doors, you have to leave out of the regular door. Otherwise your patio door is unlocked if you leave that way.
