Has the Cruise Line ever called the Day Before you Sail?

So here's a strange one ... some woman from Princess just called to say happy cruising and did I have any questions or needs about my cruise on Monday ... Went on and on with all kind of information like I was a first time cruiser.  This is my 14th or 15th cruise with them in a year and they have NEVER called me ...

I mean, thanks, it was nice, but what's up with this?  Anybody ever get a phone call?

Only to tell us to not show up before 1:00 due to delays

I was hoping she was going to give me some sort of awesome last minute upgrade as "cheerful" and "helpful" she was trying to be ....

My paranoid mind wonders if it's someone checking to see if your going to be out of the house come Monday.  Maybe have neighbors / family members keep a close eye on the house for you.

 

But hopefully it's just something new Princess has started to do.

That entered my mind too however I am cruising with my 35 year old son and my husband and dog will be guarding the house....I tell the neighbors to watch for naked women running around in the yard and smack hubby upside the head a few times for good measure ...

 

LOL!  Well I'm glad your house will be fine.  I do suspect it's something new Princess is doing.  They do have changes this year like painting the Sea Witch on the hulls and adding new restaurants on ships coming out of overhaul.  Probably many changes being put in place in regards to customer relations as well.

Obviously with the number of cruises I have taken, I am 100% loyal and have yet to experience any sort of problem that wasn't promptly resolved....One thing I have noticed on every single ship is that maintenance / upkeep is ongoing 24/7 ... they are discreetly painting / varnishing / cleaning something all day and all night!

We frequently get calls from our PVP (personal Vacation Planner) at Carnival to wish us Bon Voyage.  They usually know to call a day or two before we sail, since we leave that much in advance.  We once got a call from Carnival for an upgrade (not an upsell) and took it.  That one was a mistake because we didn't have a deck plan in front of us and we were under the shops....noisy very earlin in the morning.

They're probably sick of you and hoping you would cancel.Happy

Yes, but only to tell us to get to the port later than we plan to arrive.
