Has anyone been to

Aruba.?  What is there to do there?  Are scooters available to rent and if so do you know the cost?

It's not the temperature on the island that makes it feel hot - it's the intensity of the sun and the high humidity. BUT there is usually a nice breeze from the trade winds ...Aruba is extremely dry which adds to it...

It always cracks me up on a cruise to any of the islands when people talk about how "hot" it is -you're close to the equator for goodness sakes - what do you expect.... That said, the trade winds (depending upon the island) makes it very pleasant!

I don't care if its hot. I have never been there so I'm looking forward to it. I also like the fact we will port at 1pm till 10pm.

I never said it wasn't a nice place. All I said was it's a hot place. Is it Aruba that has those stone mushrooms out in the water ?

For those of you that have been to Aruba, is there anything you can recommend for the little ones? We will be there in October and I will have my daughter. She will be 17 months.

I think the ship docks right in front of a casino. I would put her all on a PASS LINE bet. But that's me.

If ashlee were to do that, I'd hate to see how she lays the odds on the bet (:eeewwww:)

I'll be there for the first time next month

Let me know how it was. I'd like to read your opinion of the island. Thanks.

I was in Aruba this past December & the weather was wonderful. Sorry - I have never rented scooters here. Have fun! I am sure that you will love the island.

Of the three ABC islands, the three western-most islands of the Leeward Antilles, we have been to Aruba and Curacao. Aruba two years ago and Curacao 18 years ago. The weather was very nice the day we spent in Aruba. We did an all day island tour, one of the Princess shore excursion packages, really enjoyed it. Talk about beautiful ocean beaches. Back in the late 1980s, when our daughter was working on her baccalaureate, she got on a round trip scuba diving adventure for a few days over spring break. She says the scuba diving in the ABC islands is about the best in the world. At the time she was a scuba diving instructor, up here in Alaska of all places.

Cool. Thanks

I'll figure something out.
