Handicapped parking question Jacksonville

we are cruising from Jacksonville in two weeks, haven’t cruised out of there so I have newbie questions…

Been looking at parking this morning for the cruise, I found for normal cars and trucks it is $85 at the port itself, the Parking Mall is $55 with a free shuttle and complimentary beverages (prob soft drinks and water but it did not say), other parking places get cheaper but they did not say anything about the price of a shuttle.

Also port says handicapped and disabled park for free if they have a state issued handicap plate. We have a placard not a plate. Does anyone have experience with this at the Jacksonville port? Charleston let’s you park for free with the placard if the person is in the card and registration to match the placard?

thanks in advance!

Hey Brian. I’m guessing the plate is a hard rule since placards are so easily forged. It’s amazing what some people will do to screw over those who really need accessible parking.

thank you KantWait,

true and since Florida (I am supposing) has such a large amount of handicapped citizens and the placard “borrowing” is too frequent. Danyl’s scooter comes apart and into the trunk it goes so we don’t have the attached device.

happy travels to you!!!
