Going on my first cruise in June!!

I'm very excited and can't wait. I'm taking my teenage son and his friend on Allure of the Seas departing from Ft Lauderdale. Looking for tips, tricks, ways to save money, etc. I already decided from reading through this forum to invest in a passport. I talked to someone that recommended this site and he told me that buying just one stock will give me some perks but looking through this forum, you need to buy 100 stocks. I don't think I will be doing that this time around.

Enjoy your cruise!! I have only cruised Carnival, so I can't give any help specific to Royal Caribbean. My advice would be to read the cruise contract you agreed to and FAQ's on the Royal Caribbean site. You will learn things you won't think to ask about. It seems tedious, but you won't be sorry you took the time to do your due diligence.

There are lots of friendly folks on this forum who have cruised Royal Caribbean and will be glad to answer your questions.

Happy Cruising!!!!!

They'll have a great time, as will you. Just lay down some rules ahead of time. Don't give them free reign. Don't let them wander off on their own on the islands. Jamaica ( for example ) can be very dangerous. Don't flash cash. I suggest the deluxe passport holder from Maxpedition. It goes around your neck and your waist. You might want to change the neck cord for a camera strap for comfort. Has room for everything you need off the ship.

On any beach, sorry, but one person needs to stay behind with your stuff. Don't leave anything unattended. Ever.

I don't mean to worry you, I'm just being my NY self.

enjoy the cruise

ask us anything

Left NYC 36 years and still think that way here in Colorado, Ingrained in your head , but well said , Heed the advise all of the above , nice tip on the passport carrier have to add to my travel pack . Thumbs Up BAK1061

We're going to Nassau, Bahamas, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, and Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis. Definitely not leaving my side on the islands. Thanks.

I like the itinerary way to go ... Go Big Or Stay Home nice enjoy ....

I would suggest you not have the kids Sign and Sail cards hooked up to your charge card. soda's are $ 2.50 each and the video arcade can run up a big bill very quickly. Bring some sports bottles to fill with water or juice from the buffet. Bottled water is also expensive on the ship. Check with RCI if you can bring cans of Soda on the ship when you board if the kids are big soda drinkers. In Nassau stick together, For your first time to the Islands I'd suggest excursions from the ship (if the excursion is late returning the ship will not leave with out you. If your late returning to the ship on your own, the ship may leave with out you)

I think you will all have a great time
