Global Entry Question

If anyone has gone through the Global Entry procedure, what is the wait time between submitting the application and scheduling the interview?

I just checked my email.

Apparently the answer to my question is two days.Happy

Now I have to wait for the interview - all the way until tomorrow.

Sometimes karma works with you well.

Global entry? Explain plz

Global Entry is a program set up for US citizens, as well as several other countries. It allows for a quicker entry into the US by being able to skip the customs line and simply scan your passport into the computer. It also enrolls you into the TSA Pre-Check program which is a less stringent search when entering the airport gates area.

The Global Entry program is available for use in many major airports as well as Fort Lauderdale and Miami seaports.

Thanks DB, appreciate the info.

Global Entry has saved us lots of time over the years!

Come on BD.. Not totally true... GE allows one to get in a quicker line to a Kiosk.  You still will meet and speak with a CBPO.  No one is exempt.  All and everyone will be inspected and refered if the officers intintct and training detect suspicious activity.  It's just a faster way to get to them.

Sorry if I misrepresented - I meant to say that you skip a large part of the line, not that you don't get inspected.

Similar to the TSA PreCheck - you still have to go through the scanner, but you get a shorter line, don't have to take off your shoes or pull your electronics and liquids out of the bag. It is much quicker and less stress.

Yep... Thanks BD... Now you will get me in trouble... Lol!

We did not sign up.  Many times it does save you time but sometimes it may not.  My son reported on his most recent flight, the line was actually longer but I am sure that is rare..
