I decided to post this because I've been in here so long its like i actually "know" some folks in here even tho we've never met. The good ol CDC, no matter what you may think of them, has changed the rules yet again as to who qualifies for the vaccine. i notice the SECY of something or other has decided to cut loose the reserve...hmmmm....Our GOV in a state which shall go IS cyber after all..has changed out rules accordingly. As of this coming mon 1/18, we are officially geezers...A few days ago, I started making calls to places that were "supposed " to be able to administer htese shots, per the states official list'

Good thing Im a cynic to begin with, because it didn't surprise me one bit that no two of them had anything close to the proper info as I understood it. or when they would be getting the vaccine, or how they were going to administer it. You would laff at some of the conversations, except its not a bit funny..We saw the outrageous lines in FL..I was getting ready to load up the beach chairs and a cooler, and leave at midnite or earlier....Do what you gotta do i thought.

As luck would have it, near the bottom of my list of sites I called a pharmacy...not a national chain but they have about 2 doz locations around the midwest. They were the only ones with a computerized registration process...we signed up. Got to thinking about it...(dangerous I know)...called em up...asked how many people were on that list and where were we? (it computerized, they should know) Well learned two the few days since they started they have thousands of names on the list...and...TAADAA!! our appt is next thurs 1:30 pm.,,and yes you get an id card, and your next appt for the booster, and you hang around for awhile to make sure you dont keel over.

I would suggest you spend some time (if you haven't already) and do your best to reserve a place. they won't magically show up on your porch. Don't believe what you hear as gospel...most of these people know less than you think. wrong info can be worse than no info. Make it a project. I wound up with notes all over a clipboard...pretend its a screwed up cruise and you have to do what you have to do to unscrew it.

I'll let y'all know how it goes...assuming it really happens...

Thanks to all who have received their shots for posting what I should/should not be looking forward to whenever I’m eligible. No idea when that will be, since I’m 45 and my job as a ups driver does not move me up on any lists. To all frontline workers, medical professionals, police/firefighters/EMTs, nursing care professionals, and any others I may have missed (not intentional), thank you all as well for putting yourself at risk and sacrificing time with your loved ones to selflessly help others during these as well as all other times. And lastly, glad to hear so many of you are doing better after whatever side effects you were dealing with.

Not sure if anyone can see my post from about an hour ago, but it is not showing up on my end. I will wait a little longer and repost if nothing changes. Looks like the issue Yankee47 was having may have passed on to me. My posts show up fine in other threads, so maybe this one just does not like me. TWO email notifications re your posts...they aren't here.....mebbe they'll show up "eventually"....usually when that happens I have asked the person to "repost" them, since this subject especially is kind of important....but you aren't alone with this glitch...not hardly......I'll send the poohbahs in charge an email telling might be a good idea if other did the can use the "contact us" at the bottom....(assuming of course THIS post shows up.) AND>>>>>>>.now, miraculously, your posts ARE there....from 8 and 10 hours ago respectively....ain't i wonderful???? must've skeered it as they say around here....

Went to bed with slight headache and took Tylenol. Slept well until I rolled over on the arm that had the injection (not recommended). Time for more Tylenol. Woke up with sore are but otherwise fine. Keep taking Tylenol at recommend intervals.

Sore arm... auto correct is sometimes frustrating. I guess I have a bit of brain fog. Not sure I can blame that on the vaccine,

24 hours out and no changes. Still headache and sore arm. Tylenol taken on schedule takes care of it.

I was lucky when Walmart started giving vaccines in Texas the computers crashed and I was able to get an appointment and have my first shot last week because I got through at 1:30 in the morning after they got back online.

I was under the impression they didn't want you to take anything like Tylenol because that was the vaccine doing its job especially after the second dose because there's a bigger reaction.

I hear all kinds of stories from folks I yak with online all over the country about the epics they are going thru to get the helps to be stubborn!!!! and a couple seemed to have "stepped in it" us...just dumb luck....we're going this afternoon for #2, pardon the pun....and as far as TYLENOL goes, just GOOGLE something like "tylenol after covid shots" or something to that effect....theres hundreds+ of entries....TYLENOL happens to be what everyone recommends for the reaction, if you have one........

Here ya go, from the horses mouth...most of em don't recommend taking OTC pain relievers BEFORE the shot(s) but after is ok......

BTW...TYLENOL is nothing but acetominophen in a brand name and costs more....its EXACTLY the same...been taking it every day for joints tend to have a committee meeting before they decide to do anything useful...couple of 500mgs in the AM and the meeting is adjourned......
