Free wine

I've heard the free bottle of wine you get in the Carnival Steak Houses is pretty bad. How bad is it?

I have never gotten a complimentary bottle of wine in the steakhouse. Curious to read about other passengers' experiences.

I would hope that it is worth at least what you paid for it!

I have never gotten a free bottle  in the Steakhouse but I have had bottles of sparkling white wine sent to my cabin with chocolate covered strawberries for free,   it was drinkable,  not great but not bad.

We receive a free dinner for two and a bottle of wine on NCL, due to our Platinum level. On NCL they have a list. I have had Chilean wines from that list that were very good.

I've eaten at the steakhouse but never received a free bottle of wine.

On Carnival, I have heard the free bottle of wine is for the first night of the cruise only. Many people pick that night just to get the free wine, so it must not be too bad.  We have not done so ourselves.

I'm going on the Carnival Victory, May 8, 2017. I'll have to see as I plan on dining in the steakhouse the first night.

I was on the Victory last May,  it did not have a steakhouse thenAngry,  but it was a nice ship and we had great service in the MDR and the cabin steward.
