Forbidden Fruit

So if I read this correctly, a passenger on Delta flying fro Paris was fined $500 for bringing the apple snack through customs ...

Now you know why they tell you NOT to bring fruit etc off and on the ship when you are in port ....

That is one very expensive apple, (and it wasn't even a computer or iphone).

That was funny!

When we travel we are always honest about any food we have with us in case we’ve missed reading about items that are not allowed.

It is not wrong to take something off a plane into a country. It is, however, illegal not to declare it.

Had she told the Custom's officer that she had the apple, it would have been taken and destroyed - end of story.

What happened was that she told the Customs Officer that she had nothing to declare, when she did have something.

The point is, if you are bringing something into the country that you did not take out, then declare it.

(I do think that the Customs Officer was a bit sarcastic, though. I'm not sure I would have settled for that).

Good point ... it's the cover-up not the crime! Agent saying you think your French vacation was expensive, wait till you see the fine for the apple was a bit snarky but true ...

Debbie, is this forbidden fruit?

That be the famed Captain's Daughter!

(or possibly Deb on her last Caribbean cruise).

If its the famed Captain's Daughter, its differently forbidden fruit. If its Debbie? UH OH.

Okay okay ... just seeing if I'm paying attention ... the boots look familiar ...

I'm sure.

On your cruise with Pink. Make sure you pack your mini skirts and Go Go boots.

Dang! That's a tough one. I've always thought of stuff to declare as something I purchased and was bringing back home. It just never dawned on me that fruit from the plane should be declared. That's definitely one to remember!
