Flying to Cruise Ports via Las Vegas - Flying to LGB vs LAX

This tip may help those of you researching air fare to get to the World Cruise Port in San Pedro California.  First of all, LAX (Los Angeles) and LGB (Long Beach) are about 22 and 19 miles respectively to the port.  However, the LA traffic can add significant time to the travel so with the increased # of daily flights to LGB, it's a better choice.

Air fare to LGB from Las Vegas LAS is as low as $29 one way and around $49 to LAX.  There are a HUGE number of deals from almost anywhere to Las Vegas (LAS) and some even include hotel. (E.g Seattle to LAS is $88, Boston to LAS is $112).

Check out Southwest Airlines monthly schedule to choose dates with super low fares.

Additionally, a rental car one-way from LAS to LGB is around $60 with free shuttle to pier if you felt like some sightseeing and a 4 hour drive ...

Hang in there, who knows Las Vegas may get a cruise port yet.  After all, if they can get an NHL hockey team, they can accomplish anything....  LOL
