Does anyone have experience booking their flights with Carnival and their Fly2Fun option?

Any setbacks?

Any positives?

We have not used the recent program, however, we used the old version and the problems we found were 1) late flights returning home 2) odd hour flights going 3) multiple stops on the flights. The plus is the ship is supposed to wait if your flight is delayed and transport to and from the ship.

It's been over a month since this thread started but I'll share my experience.

I had read several accounts of folks being able to pick their flights and often getting prices that were equal to or less than direct from the airlines.

I checked a ton of flights and called to get a quote for a JetBlue flight from Reno to Fort Lauderdale. The price was considerably higher and it was only available as "restricted" so there would be no changes. I also asked for a quote on United flights and they were about $30 higher pp. I went ahead and booked because they were flexible and I figured I could change if I found a better fare or itinerary.

I have found several over the past few months, mostly on Southwest. Unfortunately, every time I call the price is over $100 pp higher or they can't find those flights at all. I call the 800 number if it's after hours and my PVP if it's during working times.

I'm not sure what the deal is but I'd love to switch to the Southwest flights. The savings and free baggage which will add another $100 to the fare on United would be great to have back.

I could cancel, get a refund and rebook with Southwest myself but I'd lose the protection that comes with Fly2Fun. I also used the American Express $100 statement credit when I paid with my card and my wife's. I would lose $200 in credits. I guess I'm stuck unless something really changes with Carnival's availabilty on Southwest.

Thanks for sharing this information.

Now that's a bummer! We almost always fly Southwest, even when we sail out of Miami....We fly the day before and I do understand that is still somewhat of a risk, but worth it to have full control of our travel. Hope hey can work something out for you!

We sail of Carnival right from our home port of Cape Canaveral so we don't use this option. Come a day or two early & enjoy the beach & sunshine.
