first cruise

My wife and l just returned from first cruise. Msc Divina from oct 11 to 18. Western caribbean. Amazing. Not sure what to expect as sone reviews were bad while others high.

The ship: amazing. Lots of pools, hot tubs and a great aft lounge area with an infunity pool. Super super clean and fresh. Lots of shops, bars, entertainment and glitz and glamour. Entertainment was great. Although short in length for the main theatre, a 10 out of 10. Hats off to the entertainment team. Our room was an inside cabin, 12201. Although small,  byt was all we needed to sleep, change and relax. The bathroom was perfect, storage area well designed and room under the bed for large suitcases. The bed very comfortable, poor pillows.

Food: great food, lots of variety. Buffet well stocked although prosciutto only served once or twice. As food is very subjective, l will simply say great food and the Villa Rossa restaurant is beautiful. Order what you want and as much as you want.

Embarking and disembarking was flawless throughout the trip.

In closing, a 10 out of 10. Next trip will be land bases in Mexico.

Sounds like you had a great cruise , are you going to cruise again ?

Good morning. Amazing cruise and ship. We are definitely going to cruise again. We loved the experience and the opportunity to visit the 4 stops. The inside cabin was great but l understand  every now and then there are opportunities for a balcony at great prices so we will look for that. I am looking for a short all inclusive trip right now to Cuba as we are from Canada. Possibly 5 days the first week of December. $1000 for both of us.  The next cruise will probably be in April prior to the RV season in Canada. Maybe the eastern Caribbean.

Foe Cuba, Look at WestJet Vacations. My son and his buddy went down for Golf last year at Varadero . They had  a decent trip. But they did not go for  the food.

Hi prh5669,

Thank you for your comments, and glad you enjoyed your first cruise. The Divina is a beautiful ship. Please add a review of your experience on the MSC here: http://cruiseline.com/ship/0/review/new

Thanks for sharing your first cruise experience!  Watch out though – it’s real easy to get hooked on cruising and it sounds like you’re well on your way!

Glad you had a great Cruise.  You are now on your way to Cruise addiction.  May I suggest the mobile app Ship Mate,  it has great tips on excursions and places to go in most ports.   It is also good for the Roll Call to chat with people that will be on your same cruise to ask questions if you have any.  A lot of people do the same cruise a few times and know what it is like.

I just got off the Carnival Glory on Oct 11th.   I talked to guest on on the Divina and got good feed back on the ship.   They were in some of the same ports that we were.  I heard from a few of them that the food is now very good on the Divina (Better then it had been 6 months ago).  After seeing the ship and talking to people on it I may give it a try.

I have been on this ship - two on MSC total.  I found everything that you wrote was true on each of my cruise.  I will not hesitate to sail again with them, hopefully soon.  I wrote good reviews of both cruisies.  I hope they influenced you in a positive way if you read them.  Gloria
