First 24 on Star Princess

Ship waited 3 hours for a group out of Chicago who booked thru Princess!!! Finally set sail around 8 pm and have been hauling a$$ since...Very rough, windy and cold! However, hubby is having a blast, eat, sleep, bleep, repeat.

I will bet the reviews will be bad due to pools closed, really rocky seas. People were angry we didn't sail at 4 but when first four days are at sea enroute to Hawaii, it really makes no difference. Nice part about being a previous cruiser, you know the best is yet to be! Hope I can deliver on that speech.

(A note about pools - they are obviously taking advantage of bad weather to do maintenance and nobody in their right mind would be swimming today, but because they can't, people feel they are deprived. Hot tubs are all operational!)

I would not recommend this cruise to anyone who does not like a lot of consecutive sea days...it was very long coming and going and I was not overly impressed with Hawaii in general. Honolulu was like New York City on steroids in the downtown area. Pearl Harbor was very depressing to me (Hubby enjoyed seeing it) and the one exhibit was shut down to inclement weather.

What does TROLL mean?

For some reason, my cruise is not listed on Review Section - no star princess....hmmmm

Welcome home -- sorry about the illness.

Rather surprised to hear about the complainers on Princess -- sounds more like Carnival.

Welcome home. Sorry you are sick... never a good thing. Wish your DH had had a better experience. All that rain can put a damper on the experience (pun intended). My DH doesn't want to do this cruise because of all the sea days together. For the same reason, he is interested in the transatlantic crossing either. I would love to do both....

???

Oh no. So sorry to hear. Poor weather makes it difficult to have a good time sometimes.

Back but sick - Had massive virus attack late last night so taking it easy ... Not sure if it was a flu bug or something I ate but not good welcome home.

Hubby enjoyed the cruise (not over the top enjoyment but not dislike either) Doubt he will go again. The weather was bad 90% of the time except for a few nice days in ports in Hawaii. I think the biggest negative impact for him was the traveling to and from the pier. So much rain to and fro and although our son drove us to pier, we flew home from LAX - never a fun experience but amplified with the current Bans/Stay etc and uncertainty at the airport.

As anticipated, it was a lot of sea days in a row for a new cruiser made worse by not really being able to go on deck. He was fine but grew very very tired of the people bitching and complaining. The elevator rides were always a mass complaint cluster of how unhappy people were and while I just ignore it, he just didn't get what was wrong with these people.

So he loved the food, etc, and we had great quality time together, but he definitely did not like his fellow passengers...On that note, I will say that most people were exceptionally crabby (probably due to the weather) more so than I have ever seen.

More later in my review ...

Hurry up and get here DebbieVi the weather in Maui is great.

Things happen, Mother Nature doesn't care if you want to have calm seas and sunny skies. We had windy afternoon and the water slides had to be closed. You would have thought Carnival summoned the wind just so they could close them. Hope your weather improves enough that the "grinches" will be happy.
