Etiquette

When leaving a review, kindly leave a review.   Don't just write things like;

Bad experience, try another ship/line, or, Stay away from..........whatever ship you are reviewing.

Reviews like this don't help anyone and are a waste of your time and ours.    Everyone appreciates reviews, but they need to have some substance.

What made it a bad experience?  Was anything good about the cruise ?  Was this your first cruise, or 50th?

Thanks

This is outstanding advice for anyone wanting to leave a review.  And we all certainly want people to leave reviews.  But be wise about it.

Some reviews make me roll my eyes.  Especially reviews that have all inclusive statements such as:  Everything on this ship was in bad shape, everyone on this ship was rude, everything on this ship was boring, everything served as food was cold and inedible.

And also, if you leave a very negative review and all the other reviews on the very same cruise were 4 and 5 stars, don't get butt hurt when people start "dog piling" on you.  Your one star review when there are a bunch of 4-5 star reviews most likely means the problem was with you and not the cruise line.

So leave those reviews everyone!  We enjoy reading them.

I love a well-balanced review.  It makes me tend to believe the negative comments if there are any.  A totally negative review makes me think the reviewer is still in sticker shock from his/her onboard account Surprised

I totally agree. I am just surprised at some of the responses when someone writes an unfavorable review. I saw one today that made my jaw drop. We can have comments to a persons post without being abusive.

I agree with all of this.  We have had cruises where it seemed every little thing went awry, and it is easy to just say it was a horrible experience.  Sadly, we met some first time cruisers that will never cruise again because of one of those experiences.  It happens, but try to explain why the food was good/bad rather than just saying it was "whatever".  I know my reviews get wordy, but that is better than only saying "it was bad".  I like reading reviews, but I will skip one that seems to be totally negative...even if the cruise experience was.

Generally, I will try to describe the good and the bad, and explain my rating. I tend to ignore those reviews that give 1 or 5 stars with no valid reasoning posted. Usually (unless I am in a troll mood) don't even waste time replying to them.

Yes, and I hope they be mature about  the reviews as well.

WTH, you couldn’t find anything older than 4 years ?

ROFL; Nothing beats a good resurrection! Guess someone was thinking of an old friend; the advice still rings true. WinkBig Smile

It is however, as important today as is it was 4 years ago.... if not more so!

So true AuntPinkie. The 'why' behind the comment makes for a meaningful & helpful review.
