Eliminating the shock?

Since my experience from my first and second cruise I have begun always to pay pretty much everything off in advance. Yes, the trip itself has to be paid prior to receiving the boarding pass but It kinda was a shock when I got my bar bill from the first two trips that I still had to pay off. Usually around 400 dollars. So now I buy on CCL, cruise cash 4 times in $100 increments plus the $50 OBC I'm all set and with no pending shock of owing money afterwards.Happy Oh, I also bring around $500 in cash whether I use it all or not. Also cruise cash is use or lose but I find it for myself that there is NO way I wont run up a tab or more like that. Happy

I'm on board with you paying off in advance including my on board gratuities and now I have one excusion and the rental to pay off this week. I was looking at that cruise cash too but, it's a use it or lose it. That makes me a little nervous should I have to cancel for some unknown reason. I've had to cancel once due a family illness. What I am looking into as well is the Carnival gift cards that I can use for my on board account or for a furture cruise if need be. I'm working towards a $0.00 invoice from Carnival demarkation day.

Well you didn't know at that time. But it was there and you were happy!

I have yet to do this kiosk thing because I've always like flirting with the gal's at the Pursers desk. Big Smile

Most of the women on the ships are smoking hot

Especially the Ukrainians.Happy

You both have a good way to deal with the costs that newbies often don't expect. We usually have a long chat with friends before their fist cruise to prepare them for the shock of drinks, photos, spa treatments, even tea bags (for anything other than Lipton on Carnival) at tea-time, etc. I must admit, we aren't as good as you are for pre-paying....but we know about what we tend to spend each time and it is within the budget.Wink

Thanks Pinkie. I look at it this way. If you're in a place in life that can spend the money on a cruise all at once then that's great. I prefer to pay it down plus expenses before hand like a lot of people do. Nothing better after a vacation is knowing the only bill I have to pay is getting my cat out of the kennel if I can't get a friend to take care of her. Any newbies take note... Pay it down and prepay your grats and put money on your SS card before.

I can't argue that point. But you did leave out the Russian's, the ladies India... I think I had better stop now...... Love

I think you'd better get it out of your system before your DGF smacks it out of you on the cruise Big Smile

Thats why I said I had better stop. However, I was cruising before her and I was always busy getting to know the crew.

OH I had better stop. Wink

By no means was i segregating any nationality. I'm just a white male American living in The Carolina's. When cruising you get to meet many cultures and beauty with the destinations and yep.

.. The cute crewmembers from different nations. I find it refreshing.
