Eating Dairy and Gluten Free on Carnival Cruise Line

Hello,

We have some allergies in our family and I was wondering how accommodating Carnival Cruise Line are? My son has a dairy allergy and my husband is gluten intolerant. Am I right in thinking that they provide small cartons of  milk/chocolate milk to drink free of charge? Therefore....... does Carnival provide any dairy alternatives to drink such as Almond or Soy milk? ...........OR..........Am I able to bring on either small/large tetras packs of Almond milk, so my son can get his "calcium/milk" for the week?

Any information or tips to help eating on board with both allergies would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

I know that Princess Cruise ships do that but I'm not sure about Carnival. Princess clearly marked items on the buffet as gluten free and one of my fellow diners in the MDR filled out a special menu diet for the following day when we were eating ....

I saw Gluten free items clearly marked in the Buffet of the Carnival Inspiration. Wasn't a lot but they were there. I don't know about the MDR's on Carnival ships.

You can search the forums with the search bar on the left. Someone earlier may have given a more definite answer about Carnival Cruises and gluten free food.

Carnival is very good about it! But you need to let them know before you sail. We had one cruiser in our group that had several allergies (gluten, dairy, plus), the chef came to the table each night at dinner and went over the options for the following nights menu. We even booked the Chef's table and they worked with her on that! A good time was had by all!

Yes Carnival will accommodate guests with dietary needs like this. My suggestion is to call and ask to have it noted on your booking, and then speak directly to the Maitre D as soon as possible after boarding the ship. There were baskets of GF breads and rolls at the Lido buffet, but I'm not sure about dairy free.
