Easy travel hacks

What are some of the ideas you've picked up over your travels that make your cruising a bit easier?

For example:

I always take antiseptic wipes and wipe the cabin down, just for good measure. I like to,take, one of my coffee thermal cups.

I also take Lysol wipes with me to hit the door handles and switches. I also take a flashlight for at night so I do not have to turn on a big light if having to go to the restroom.

JusMe - that bathroom light is a retina-killer late at night.

You mean besides the rubber gloves and Clorox wipes to wipe EVERY surface ? Including the tv remote !

Well, I find one of those collapsible valets handy. The kind with snaps at the corners but opens flat for packing. Keeps all of our stuff in one place when we come in the cabin.

A small roll of shrink wrap has come in very handy during self debarkation. It also keeps your luggage closed.

Since I am in the organizing-for-packing mode, I thought of another hack because of recent "bad smelling cabin" complaints...

Last cruise, we tried putting a Febreze car vent clip air freshener on the ventilation grid. It did not work to freshen up the cabin.

This trip we are going to bring a couple different options, one solid and a small-size spray freshener. I expect a better result.

I take a small flashlight for dim bar lounges, room freshener, walkie talkie for shore trips, small scissors, scotch tape and a water bottle among other things. Don't forget a sewing kit and an extra TSA approved lock in case mine gets "accidentally" broken off.

Wow, we have never experienced a foul smelling cabin, but that doesn't mean we won't. If it does occur for us, I will be one unhappy camper.

There are a few good ideas in this thread for people new to this forum.

Maybe you can add in a few of your own!!

We take a zippered portfolio with pockets for all our travel docs, with papers organized in the order we will need them (flight, hotel, cruise....) Makes it easier for us to be sure we take everything we need and easier to produce the items as needed. It fits nicely in either DH backpack or my Carnival tote bag.

We have started to bring travel fans for the bed side (because one year it was not cool enough) and also a charging station for our phones/ipads/ipods. One outlet, and bring the chords, and we have the ability to charge 5 things at once.
