Drink Tickets/Packages

This is my first time cruising, my friends suggested (actually warned me) I would regret not buying a drink package.  How can I find more information the the Carnival Sensation drink packages, what they include, the cost, and how to purchase them in advance or on ship.  Thanks!

The Carnival website has the information you are looking for in their FAQ section. You can find the prices too and order in advance once you log into Carnival and go to Manage your cruise.

Depends on how much you like to drink. For me I did the non-alcoholic drink package once and it wasn't worth it. I would have paid less buying each drink individually. I don't drink much alcohol so that package is definitely not worth it.

So do the research and realistically think about how much you like to drink while in vacation. One quick example is wine. On Carnival Inspiration it was $9 a glass. $50/day for the package. I wouldn't be drinking more than two glasses a day so not worth it for me.

Generally, the break even point is 5-7 glasses per day. Most drink packages also include non-alcoholic drinks such as (good) coffee, bottled water, sodas and juices.

If you can get by drinking mostly the fountain drinks (tea, lemonade, coffee) at the Lido, then the package may not be worth it. If you prefer brewed and specialty coffee, fruit juices, sodas, energy drinks, virgin drinks or alcoholic drinks, then the package may make more sense.

Remember, if one person in a cabin purchases the package everyone in the same cabin over 21 must also purchase the package. Your friends know you and their own drinking habits, so they are looking out for what is best for you. It will also be one less thing to worry about on your budget, as you already paid the "bar tab". All the information above is good advice. Try this link for more information:

For many people, the packages make sense. I don't drink enough for it to be worthwhile for me. You have to figure out how much you will drink a day and go from there. The c ruiseline's Website will give you information about what is covered and how much.
