Drink package specials

Does anyone know if the drink packages are cheaper the day of boarding or with the specials emailed prior to departure?  This is for Oasis of the Seas, Royal Carribean.

My experience has been, No. Typically the Drink Packages have been cheaper buying in advance.  However, When I was on Liberty of the Seas, they offered a Drink Package I did not find on their website.   It was basically pre-purchasing 10 drinks for around $70.

Some benefits were you could use it for multiple people and you did not have to use it all on one day.  I'm not sure if they offer that deal on all Royal Caribbean ships as I have only been on Liberty.  Perhaps someone else knows more.

My understanding is that the best prices for anything on the RCCL is the BOGO offers before cruising. This includes the beverage and dining packages. By the by the current offer for their ultimate drink package is much better than what NCL charges (about half as much) and the RCCL one includes specialty coffee, soda and bottled water which is not included in the NCL one. But the kicker is that if one person in the cabin buys the plan then everyone in the cabin must have the same plan. The current RCCL ultimate plan cost of 52 and change Canadian a day is an excellent value but since my wife does not drink or rarely drinks this makes buying 2 of those just for me not very cost effective.

Cheers

Now that is an interesting and cool concept, the 10 for 70 package. Where did you hear about that one? That might be worth looking at.

Looks like my attempt to reply to your inquiry did not submit, so I will re-submit

I noticed it advertised on a placard on the bar. I didn't notice it until a few days into my cruise, so not sure if it was available on Day 1. I probably would have taken advantage of it but I already and the Unlimited Plan.

Usually pre-purchasing the package is cheaper.
